Edit menu on the left side of Acrobat blank when selected

While in a document, the All tools menu on the left shows all the options when the document first opens, but when you click on Edit or any other tab, all the options disappear and the column becomes blank for all tabs, even the All tools menu. This is happening for multiple users in our departments. The application will work normally at first, then will start having the issue randomly. Repairing or reinstalling does not fix the issue. Disabling the ‘new’ acrobat will allow the tools to be used, but this is only a workaround and not a solution to the problem.

Hello @Chad_LCOIT

Thanks for your patience and cooperation on this.

Please try the following suggestions, and let us know if this fixes the issue for you.

Please note: Create a backup of the registry settings before making any changes. To create a backup, check this article: https://adobe.ly/4vRRJAr

  • Go to the registry location: "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown"

  • Right-click on the right blank space > select New > DWORD 32-bit value.

  • Rename it to:  bGenCoverPagesLabelStrings

  • Right click on the new value > Click Modify > add the value as ‘1’ (numeric one)

  • Restart the Acrobat and the machine and check the performance.

Let us know if you experience any issues.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Thank you for your help. The registry change was a great workaround. Until we see that a fix is applied from Adobe, we’ll apply that change to users that are in need of immediate remediation.

Hi @Chad_LCOIT

The suggestion is for an immidiate fix. The product team has already started deploying the fix, and it may take some time to reflect at your/user’s end.

I will update you once the deployment is complete by 100%.

Thanks so much for your patience on this. 🙏🏼
