Editing field causes field to duplicate

I'm working on an application and I'm trying to covert it to a fill-form rather than handwriting in entries. Every time I make changes to the fields, the fields seem to duplicate (one on top of the other). I'm using the prepare form tool in acrobat.

That can happen accidentally when you have a field selected and also have the Ctrl key pressed and you even slightly move the mouse.

That's totally it! That's how I was editing the properties of the fields.

Look in the list of fields in the right hand panel when you are in form editing mode. You will see your duplicated there. You can also use this list to click to highlight a field and to right click to bring up properties. See if that helps your workflow.

[I moved your question to the PDF Forms forum]

That means you created two fields with the same name one on top of each other. Delete the top ones and it should work fine.

Thanks for getting back to me. So I delete the duplicates on top with same name. Then I edit the field, switch back to filling out the form, and it seems new fields are added on top. Deleting the duplicates works until I have to make a change to the field, and then more duplicates are created.

How are you editing the field? Are you trying to move it, or something like that?
