Editing jpegs in a pdf.

I am using Adobe Acrobat Standard Continuous Release with the latest update.

I have a pdf that has JPEGS. Sometimes Adobe Acrobat Standard lets me resize, crop or move the JPEGS and sometimes it doesn't! It lets me rotate or invert a JPEG but not resize or move.

It may have something to do with my changing the document size but I can't be sure.

Why does Adobe Acrobat Standard allow me to change JPEGS sometimes and sometimes not!

It's very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I assume you are referring to images in general. Unless you dig deep, you would not know if the images are stored in the JPEG format, or any of the other image formats that PDF supports.

 

Is it possible that you can resize bitmap images, but not vector graphics? Again, on the surface they may look the same, but the way they are stored in the PDF file is completely different. 

 

I don't have access to Acrobat Standard, and I am a bit fuzzy on the differences to Acrobat. When you are in edit more, can you right-click on an "image" that you cannot resize and see an option to edit in an external application? If so, you might be able to edit in e.g. Adobe Illustrator to see if you are dealing with vector graphic.

I do know the images are JPEGS. I created them in Adobe Photoshop Elements so they should be compatible.

 

What I don’t understand is that sometimes I can resize and move the JPEGS and sometimes I can’t. I have just opened up the pdf I was using this morning and it is allowing me to resize and move the JPEGS. This morning I couldn’t!

 

What would cause that?

Sorry for the delayed response. 

Are you trying to edit the JPEG itself (e.g., changing colors, cropping) or just modify how it appears in the PDF (e.g., resizing, repositioning. And what do you mean by moving jpegs? 
And when you said it allows you to move PDF once and later it doesn't, are we talking about the same PDF in the question? 

If possible could you share a video of the problem so we could understand what you are experiencing?
