Efficient Batch OCR

In Adobe Acrobat DC, there is a capability to OCR all files in a folder. Does this process OCR files even if they have been previously OCR'd?

I tried OCRing a directory that I had previously OCR'd and it seemed to take about the same amount of time.

I would like to OCR all pdf files in a directory which have not already been OCR'd as quickly as possible.
