Email a PDF as an an attachment and NOT a cloud link not possible?

Each time I try to send a PDF as an attachment I only get the link, I've unchecked the box in the settings, I am logged in..but no success. And I really need it to send invoices etc to our accounting software. I use a Macbook and Outlook. Drives me crazy... Does anybody have the same issues? or perhaps a solution?
