Question

Emailed PDF form randomly blank

Hi,

I have created a writeable PDF form using Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2017.009.20044 on a Mac and have emailed it out to around 40 people to fill in for me.

The people filling out the form are using a variety of systems - Apple and PC. I have received forms back via email, which have been completed correctly and will open on my end with the answers displayed as expected.

However, I have received two back from fellow Mac users, which when I open them on my end, are blank. They have assured me that they 1. filled out the form and 2. saved it before sending it back.

I am at a loss as to why they are coming back blank, when others have come back fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Check if the forms are really blank. I have seen forms, that looked blank, but if i clicked on a filled out field, the content was displayed. Looks to me like a bug on Acrobat DC/Mac OS.

It's actually a bug in Apple Preview (or some similar application/browser

plugin), that corrupts PDF forms in various ways.

Ask them what app they used to open the file. If it was Preview or a

browser, that's the reason.

You can try to export the data and then import it back in to fix these

files.
