Question

Enable Protected Mode at startup prevents save as Jpeg

Hello,

Since upgrading to Windows 11 the save as jpeg option no longer saves files to a network location. The save as jpeg option saves successfully to a local folder on C: drive but not a Mapped drive. Other save as file formats save fine to a network location.

The only fix is to disable "Enable Protected Mode at startup" in preferences. This then allows save as jpeg to a network location.

We obviously dont want to disable a security feature so how do we get this resolved please? Do i have to make Adobe Acrobat aware of the network location as a trusted location?

Thanks

Hi Adam28750115he7a,

Thank you for reaching out.

Could you please share the workflow used to "save as JPEG"?

Are you converting PDF to JPEG format file?

It would be helpful if you could share the screen recording of what you are trying to do.

Share the Acrobat and OS version numbers.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hello Meenakshi,

The workflow is Open a PDF then Save As "Jpeg" format from the Save As Dialogue box.

It saves the file to C: drive but not to a Network Drive.

All other Save As formats save ok to Network Drive.

OS is Windows 11

Hi Adam28750115he7a,

Sorry about the delay in response.

When you save the PDF as JPEG format, does the option for Network Drive appear, and you get some error selecting it? Or does the option not appear on the Save as the window?

Could you please confirm if you are using a working or personal machine? Did you check if there is no permission issue?

Thanks,

Meenakshi
