enhance multiple files (scan to OCR PDF)?

I can't seem to figure out how to get OCR to run in the background. I have large files that need to be "enhanced" to recognize text. This process runs SLOWLY. Other PDF software allows this process to run in the background. Users can still work with other pdf files while it runs. Does Adobe DC have this functionality? Please direct me to tutorial. Thanks!

You'll want to open a separate instance of Adobe:

Open the windows menu

type "run"

press enter

type "acrobat /n"

press enter

This should open a new window of Acrobat every time you do this, and will allow you to run multiple OCRs on large documents while viewing/editing documents in another window.

Yes, I've been trying/hoping to get this fixed for maybe a dozen years now.

My only recommendation is to plan on getting the OCR done when you take a coffee break, lunch break, go home for the night, whatever you can let Acrobat do its thing and not interrupt you.

Hopefully one of these days.........
