Entering data after Digital Signature
We have a form that has digital signatures for the initial requestor, approver, and finnance approver. We also have fields for each group to fill in.
1. A requestor turns in a request for a purchase with all the information and digitally signs the document.
2. Sends to the approver to sign
3. Approver signs and Sends to finance
4. Finance adds some project inforamation and digitally signs and sends to purchasing
5. Purchasing adds PO# and additional information relating to purchasing
I've since read that it appears Adobe Pro isn't meant for what I'm attempting to do as you aren't supposed to be able to add data after being signed. However, the puzzling thing is some can eid and some can't.
We have some employees who get the "Problem with signature" message but can still edit the form.
Then some of our employees are getting "The document has been signed and cannot be edited" message. I've checked Signature Security settings and we are set the same. I haven't checked their Enhanced settings. I wanted to be more educated before asking for that.
Several questions:
1. Why are some able to edit and some aren't? At first I thought it was the version of Adobe Pro. We have one Adobe Pro 11, four using Adobe Pro DC and 2 using Adobe Pro 2017. All versions can edit after the signing. I have had this problem before but we were in the requestor stage so removed the signature, made the change and resigned. However, it doesn't appear to be consisten.
2. Is there a better solution and if so, please advise.
We've been paper driven so long and I am concerned this problem will cause our team to not embrace going to electronic forms.
Thanks for all suggestions.
Dale
