ERROR CODE 136 AND DOWNLOAD ADOBE DC

For reasons unbeknownst to me, Adobe DC, which has always worked on Windows 10, will not download and install.   I keep hitting 48% and then I receive Error 136 with no explanation of what to do.

 

Internet searches show this is a common problem, although I can't find any solid posts with a fix.
