Error message when accessing a pdf from an email link

Daily I select a hyper link in an email to open marketing material from customers.  Over 90% of the time I receive the following error message "There was an error opening this document.  This file cannot be found." the first time I select the link.  I go back to the email link a second time and generally the material opens in Acrobat.  Why am I having this problem?

Hi there

We are sorry for the trouble. As described you are getting error while opening the pdf from email link

++ Adding to the discussion

Please try to download the file to your computer locally and then try to open with Acrobat/Reader DC and check

Also, make sure you have the latest version 20.009.20067 installed go to Help > Check for Updates and see if that works for you.

For testing purposes, please try to turn off the protected mode and check. Go to Edit (Windows), Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC (Mac) > Preferences > Enhanced Security  > Turn off the protected mode and Uncheck the Enhanced Security > Click ok and reboot the application

Note: Please turn on the security after testing.

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Can you share the actual file with us?

You can attach it to the original message using the tiny paperclip icon at the bottom when you edit it, or upload it to a file-sharing website (like Dropbox, Google Drive, Adobe Cloud, etc.), generate a share link and then post it here.

Also, what's the exact version number of the application you're using, and what's your OS version?
