"Error while interacting with the scanner: the selected scanner was not found."

Using Acrobat x version 10.1.16 on Mac OS high Sierra 10.13.3 says "Error while interacting with the scanner: the selected scanner was not found." Brother TWAIN correctly listed as scanner, scanner works with image capture and prints fine so cable not an issue. Successfully reinstalled printer/scanner drives from Brother.
