Error while opening some pdf-files in Sharepoint: "there's some problem while processing your files"

My users get an error while opening some pdf-files in Sharepoint: "there's some problem while processing your files"

This occours both in Edge and Chrome. Not with all files but some.

Opening the files through the SharePoint file meny -> "open in browser" avoids this problem, but this is not a good solution. Tried to clear browser cache but this did not help.
