expand/collapse pages

Okay, so, I'm a newb as it comes to doing anything more complex in Acrobat than making, combining, and simple organizing of combined pages.

My question is in regards to organizing pages - I am creating a PDF file of 179 pages of manufacturing prints - Some of the original PDFs are multi-page prints.
They have become separated (expanded) from each other in the combined file.
Is there a way to "staple" these files back together?  i.e. stack Sheet 1, 2,3 of file AAA together like it was before the combining process, able to be expanded and collapsed as needed, but are connected as obvious members of the same original print?

Kind of a "Sheet 56a, 56b, 56c" or is it stuck as sheet 56, 57, 58 of 179?

Thanks kindly,

A. Bear

Hi TheRealABear,

Sorry for the delay in response.

When you combine multiple files into a single PDF, it combines the files in an order.

The pages of the first file selected will come first, then the pages of the second file will be added and so on.

Then it becomes the single PDF.

Once it is a single file, you can not staple the pages.

However, if you wish you can extract those pages to a separate single PDF.

Refer the steps mentioned here Extract a page from a PDF |

There is one more option that you can refer to.

If you wish to add all the PDFs to a single file and all the pages of the individual files stapled together, you can use the Portfolio option.

Take help the steps mentioned here Create and customize PDF Portfolios

Hope this helps.
