Expected a Dict object when trying to select comments for printing

I downloaded a document from the web and began to highlight and add comments to the version on my one drive.  I wanted to print the comments along with the document and selected 'documents and mark-ups', then 'summarize comments'.  It brought up an error box stating 'expected a dict object' 

I have tried to 'save as' another version, but to no avail.  Tearing my hair out, so help appreciated!
