Some clarification is needed here. What do you mean by "individual text boxes"? Are these fields? Comments? Graphic elements on the page itself? Something else? Could you provide a sample file (both Word and PDF) that shows this issue?

I was able to use a word macro to remove all boxes surrounding text

Hello, @jonathans3438240, I removed your email from your message. Please, for your own sake, be mindful of my warning.

As far as your issue, please be aware that Acrobat 17 reached its EOL (End of Life) on Nov. 21st, 2023. That means that Adobe will not provide support or assistance to that product. As hardware and operating systems are constantly moving targets, keeping older software viable is, well, not viable.

One thing you can try to solve your issue is to export the contents of your PDF as a Text Document (.txt). It will require a bit of time to reconstruct its appearance, but that will take a lot less time for what you're describing.

Good luck!
