Question

Exporting a PDF to Word formatting changes, why?

When I export my pdf to Docx the example that pops up on my desktop looks perfect. But when I email the docx to anyone when they open it all the formatting has changed. I have even emailed it to myself and surely it does.  It wraps text that shouldn't be wrapped. I have gone into settings and request that it keep original formatting but it worn't. What am I doing wrong.

Consider the Save to Word function more of a courtesy, especially if your document did not originate from Word. You’re not doing anything wrong. That’s just how it works. It honestly behaves much better if the source document was from the Office suite.

Is Word the native file format that the PDF originated from?

Regardless, saving a PDF to Word should not be expected to retain 100% layout. Word is not a layout program. PDF will retain layout perfectly from one computer to the next. Word does not.

Nope. It's InDesign to Acrobat Pro to Word
