Question

Exporting Form Data

I have a need to export PDF data into .csv. I am using Acrobat PRO DC v2017.009.20044.

As I was researching the various help, support and forums  for questions and resolutions similar to mine, I came across many posts with my identical question.

All of the responses to questions similar to mine discussed capabilities I cannot find in my version of Acrobat Pro DC. The post dates on all of them were 2-3 years in the past which assumes previous versions of Acrobat.

For example, A user needed to export a form"s captured data into a .csv file. The resolution was to go into Tools - Form - Options - Merge Data files into Spreadsheet...

I have neither the Form tool nor an option anywhere for Merge Data filled into Spreadsheet.

Is the ability to export only data from a Form available in the latest version of Pro DC? If so where? I cannot believe a feature like this would be removed. It seems more likely to have been moved someplace I have not found yet.

I answered my own question. In Acrobat PRO DC v2017.009.20044, with a form open, go to Tools - Prepare Form. In the Tools window on the right side, go to More and Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet. Using Add Files, select the file you want to export the data from and Export, then give the name and location for the .csv file to be created in and Save.

The created .csv will export only the form data in horizontal rows.

Sure it's possible. Search the Tools panel for "Export data"...

It looks as if you may be trying to follow instructions written for an earlier version of Acrobat, maybe. Did you search the tools for FORM? There are now so many tools, some with surprising names, that searching is often the best option.
