Question

Exporting from InDesign

When I export from InDesign, using Acrobat X (ver. 10.1.16) with OSX Yosemite, most of the time, my spot colors get converted to process when the file is sent to the RIP. Also, the 4-color process jobs have different color outcome from this mac, than the older G5.

If I take my PDF and open and re-save it on the older G5, the Spot colors stay Spot Colors.

It doesn't do it from an older Mac5, using Acrobat 7.0, where I print to a PDF.

Our RIP is Xante RipIt Speedsetter VM, using Open RIP Symphony 2.0 software. I am connected Wireless, whereas the G5 is not.

Any suggestions?

How exactly do you export from InDesign to PDF? Which version of InDesign are you using? You should not have to use Acrobat to get from InDesign to PDF - InDesign can export to PDF directly, and this way, nothing else will interfere with what goes into the PDF file.

I do export from InDesign, and then it goes to Export Adobe PDF. I tried all different set ups. I have it on PDF/X-4:2010 and Compatibility: Acrobat 7(PDF 1.6)

Should the Standard be set to None instead of a PDX?

Thank You

Cathy
