Extended mode doesn't stay enabled in Adobe Reader on my laptops.
I have a couple dozen pdf contracts I created in Acrobat pro 9.0 os a couple of laptops. The pdf'd all work fine in all of our desktop PCs. However the laptops wouldn't allow me to fill in the fields I created.
I finally figured out I needed to, and how to enable extended mode on the original documents to allow editing (filling them in) on the laptops. I copied a test batch I had enabled individually, and it worked fine for me yesterday.
Today I get the error message when I open any of them on the laptops: THIS DOCUMENT ENABLED EXTENDED FEATURES IN ADOBE READER. THE DOCUMENT HAS BEEN CHANGED SINCE IT WAS CREATED AND USE OF EXTENDED FEATURES IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. PLEASE CONTACT THE AUTHOR FOR THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THIS DOCUMENT.
I reecopied them to one of the laptops running Reader X, version 10.1.16. STill get the message.
So I bypassed the copy causing the problem and accessed them directly from my PC over the network from the original documents.
Same error message as above.
I closed a document and accessed it from my PC and was going to re-enable the extended features and they are still in extended mode. ("Advanced, Extende features in Adobe Reader" in Pro menu).
The laptops, which worked yesterday, use Windows 7 Starter OS. My PC uses Windows 7 Ultimate. The rest of the PCs all use 7 or 10 professional, and work fine. They even grab copies the files from Google Drive and have done so for years. These do not have the extended mode enabled, either.
Anyone know what is going on?
I will try to build a non legal document and add it if neccessary tomorrow.
Thank you!
