Extracting Specific Information from 10,000 Scanned Handwritten Pages into Excel

Hello everyone,

I have scanned 10,000 handwritten pages and I need to quickly extract specific information, such as first names or last names, from all these pages into an Excel spreadsheet. Is there an efficient way to do this using Adobe tools or any other recommended software?

Thank you for your help!

The first step must be OCR, AKA Text Recognition, but Acrobat won't be able to handle hand-written text, nor that quantity of files. You need to look for a more robust tool, like ABBYY FineReader.

Even after OCR is performed (assuming it's successful) Acrobat won't be able to handle that many files, so you would need to do it in batches, or use some other tool, preferably one that doesn't visually load each file, but just analyzes it and then extracts the data from it.

I've developed similar stand-alone tools for my clients in the past and would be happy to look into it and let you know if I think it's doable or not. You can contact me privately to discuss it further, if you're interested.
