Fatal Error-Acrobat failed to connect to DDE server

Fatal Error message-Acrobat failed to connect to DDE server.  Just got computer back from being cleaned.  Not sure if that has anything to do with it.  After clicking "Open" on a PDF doc, nothing happens. I have Windows 10. Not sure if I need to update or how to update.

Could you please confirm the exact version of Acrobat DC you are working on? Open Acrobat DC>Help>About Acrobat.
