Feedback on Adobe Acrobat UX

Hello,

This won’t be a question. I just want to give feedback on features I wish acrobat had after nearly two decades.

1- shortcut ribbon in the attached screenshot is a disaster. you can’t minimize it, you can’t edit it. what is it good for?

2- adobe print to pdf just loves starting up downloaded PDFs without being prompted to do so. turned it off from the preferences menu and the computer’s device settings on Acrobat print to PDF. apparently it has the memory of a goldfish so i have to do it again at every turn.

3- customizable shortcuts. how is a billion dollar company not getting this?? i don’t want to press “d” and get thrown at that sometimes unending speech bubble thing. where. is. the. pen?! why would i have to press shift-d 7 more times to get to it? is the speech bubble *that* useful to anybody?

anyways. you’ve been asking me for feedback a lot lately. here you go; more feedback for you to not consider.

takes up a lot of space at times.

    Hi @mmclxxii ,

    Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. This vertical floating toolbar is part of the newer "New Acrobat" interface, and unlike the old Quick Tools bar, it currently doesn't have a way to be minimized, hidden, or edited on its own. The only way to get rid of it is to revert to the classic interface entirely:

    • Click the hamburger menu (three lines) in the top-left corner

    • Select Disable New Acrobat

    • Restart Acrobat when prompted

    There isn't currently a way to keep the newer interface while removing or customizing just this toolbar, so it's really an all-or-nothing switch between the two UI modes at the moment.

    On your other two points,

    PDFs auto-opening after download: press Ctrl+K in Acrobat, go to General, and deselect "Always open PDFs downloaded from the web." If you also use the Adobe Acrobat Chrome extension, there's a separate "Open all PDFs in Acrobat" toggle in the extension's own settings that needs to be off too, both are independent of your OS's default app setting, which is likely why toggling that alone didn't stick. This setting is also known to reset after Acrobat updates, worth rechecking after your next one.
