Fill and sign won't let me use anything but text?

I’m trying to fill in a questionnaire/test with checkmarks, but whenever I hover over the boxes in the form, the checkmark disappears and the text insertion cursor appears instead? All I seem to be able to do is add text to the boxes. I have to add the checkmark to a random part of the form and then drag them into the box instead of clicking the boxes where the checkmarks are supposed to go. Is there some sort of auto-detect setting turned on?

Without seeing the form it’s impossible to say what’s going on. However, when you have text fields that expect text input, that is what the UI will assume you want to do. That’s why you likely see the text cursor.

But why is this happening even though I have the checkmark tool selected? On every other part of the form, the checkmark appears but as soon as I hover over the boxes where they need to go, the cursor switches to text insertion. I took a picture with my phone. You can see I’ve selected checkmark.

These look like test fields, so you need to complain to the form author - if they really wanted to have a checkmark placed there, they should have used a different approach. The istructions say “tick one option” - what happens if you just click in the field - does it place a mark there? If not, can you just type an “x” to check the option.

If the recipient of the form is processing these files automatically, they will _NOT_ see your checkmark, because it does not show up as form field data.
