fill in checkmark in a check box

I'm trying to fill in a check in a check box in an irs document. How do I do that? I don't have an fill and sign option in my program Adobe Acrobat 9 pro for mac.

I can type in the pdf but I can not fill out that one box

This is not a feature of Acrobat 9.
