Fill & Sign Missing on a Fresh Install – Ridiculous Lack of Basic Functionality

As the title suggests, the Fill & Sign feature is completely missing on a freshly installed system.

This feature works perfectly on my other devices, yet for some inexplicable reason, it refuses to appear on this one. I was genuinely unaware that such a fundamental function—one that countless users rely on—could be so utterly broken for so many people.

I have exhausted every conceivable fix: changing language settings, tweaking registry values, installing every possible update, and yet, nothing.

At this point, I am genuinely at my wits' end. Why should something so basic require this level of troubleshooting? More importantly, why is it broken in the first place? I can access Fill & Sign on the cloud, but that is completely useless for my needs. I am paying for a service that cannot even provide its core functionality. What exactly is my subscription fee funding?

To make matters worse, Adobe’s support system is a masterclass in frustration. No matter what time of day I reach out, I am greeted by the unhelpful AI assistant, which repeatedly tells me to come back during “operating hours.” If you attempt to ask what those hours actually are, the bot just restarts the conversation. This is beyond unacceptable.

Adobe, this is an embarrassment. Fix it. Now.

Thank you @Harjit Mahindroo  for sharing the logs with us. After taking a look at the logs I found that the Acrobat installation has been customized to disable Fill&Sign feature on your machine. Was this installation done by an administrator in your organization? If yes, then you'll need to reach out to your organization's administrator to get the feature unblocked.

Administrator has disabled the feature by setting below registry key on your machine:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\FeatureLockDown\cServices]

"bToggleFillSign"=dword:00000001

Documentation for this registry is at https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/PrefRef/Windows/FeatureLockDown.html#idkeyname_1_9299

If you have administrator rights on your machine then you can delete this registry value and on the next launch of Acrobat, Fill&Sign will appear. But please note that the registry will get re-created as soon as GPO refresh takes place on your machine (I think admin has used GPO to push these settings on your machine).

Hi Harjit,

Thank you for reaching out and sorry to hear about your experience. Are you facing this issue with Acrobat or Reader?

We would need some logs from the affected machine to be able to investigate why this is happening. Can you run Acrobat troubleshooting tool and send us the logs?

You will need to enable the tool and then run it as documented at https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/kb/acrobat-diagnostics.html. Just start the diagnostics and then stop it since there is no workflow that you need to run. Once you stop the tool, you will get an option to share the logs. Share the logs and send us the log ID here and we’ll find the relevant log from the backend.

Thanks

Hello Mohdkashif

Please see the LogID: 734b2f5d-9d73-4084-b3b5-6ee1c68edafc

If you can't sort this out, please don't mess me around, i'd just be happy to cancel my personal and office subscription and go with another service. It shouldn't be this difficult to resolve a CORE service and feature of this software. The worst part is that google is littered with thousands of people facing this issue. How on earth you guys drop the ball on such a basic thing is beyond me.

I await your response.
