Question

Fill & sign not snapping to lines

I've noticed after a recent update that when I go to use fill & sign, the text that I put in the box is no longer snapped to the line on my pdf and instead floats above the line. This wasnt an issue in previous versions and had only recently started happening. I regularly use fill & sign for my work, and I was wondering if this was a new bug or if I have to fiddle with my settings. I'm not able to update the application on my own as its controlled by my works IT department. Thank you for any help/insight! 😊

@magpi3.14 , would it be possible for you to send us a test file on which you were not observing the issue earlier but are experiencing it now.

Funny enough its the same file! I usually copy and paste from the original. I'm not able to send a filled out version due to privacy, but I can get the unfilled pdf here in a moment.

    Hello @magpi3.14,

I hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We're sorry for the trouble you had.

Please check with your IT team once, if they can install the latest build of Acrobat: 26.001.21563. Planned update, May 18, 2026. Check for any pending updates by navigating to Menu > Help> Check for Updates. Install the updates, restart the app and the machine, and try again.

If you are able to access the Acrobat Online services, then go to the Fill and Sign services: https://adobe.ly/42Z5OzP

Try the same workflow with a new/different PDF, and check if you are still experiencing the issue. Also, post a screenshot of the text that floats above the line.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Anand Sri.

    Hi Anand!

My company doesnt have Adobe online (we use the free version of acrobat), and it is updated to the latest version. I believe the latest version is what caused the text to start floating instead of snapping to the lines. I did attach a screenshot in my first post of what that looked like before I manually moved it down to the line.

    Thanks for the quick response!

    Hello @magpi3.14

Thanks for sharing the details. Could you please share a sample PDF file through which you are able to reproduce the issue? I tried replicating the issue on my Windows machine with Acrobat, but it is working fine.

Collect the logs as well from the machine, along with the OS details, and share it with us for further investigation.

To collect the logs, check this article, and reproduce the issue while collecting the logs.
