Fill & Sign Tool - Abruptly shuts down project

Hi! Any suggestions on how to get my Adobe to stop abruptly shutting down when using the "fill and sign" tool? I've read numerous articles, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on my desktop. I've tried multiple different documents. Nothing seems to be working. I have Windows 10. This is a new problem for me as I've used this tool every day with no issues for years now. TIA!

Hi All,

The issue has been addressed in the latest update released today. Try updating the application to the latest version available. In Acrobat, go to Help > Check for updates. Check if that resolves the issue.

You may also refer to the information on the latest update on the following help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/release-note/release-notes-acrobat-reader.html.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Cierra38282429zx94,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting this.

As the application crashes when using the Fill & Sign tool, try the troubleshooting steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-crashes-on-windows-os.html

If the issue still occurs, please share the following details for further investigation:

- Does the crash occur with a specific file or any file you use?

- Share the Acrobat or Reader version currently in use.

- Share the OS version on the machine.

- Share the crash logs using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html.

Let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi, thank you for your suggestions. I have tried every step repeatedly, and nothing seems to correct the issue. I use this function daily and it's interfered with completing my work on time. What else can I do? I have Windows 10.

Thank you,

Hi Cierra38282429zx94,

Thank you for the information.

The team is aware of the issue and is working on the fix. We will update you once the fix patch is available.

In the meantime, try the workaround mentioned here.

Please go to the location mentioned below and delete the following files:

%appdata%\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initials

%appdata%\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initialsi

%appdata%\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\acrobat_fss_signature_initialsk

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
