Fillable form checkboxes not displaying.

I have multiple fillable PDF forms created in-house using Adobe Acrobat Standard XI.  They've worked fine up until yesterday.  I had an unrelated machine issue and our IT department took my computer to install a newer version of Windows 10.

I got the computer back, load up one of the forms and the checkbox fields will not display properly.  The fields were set as "check mark" in the original document.  I've tried editing the field to another symbol and the only one that works is "cross"... which is basically an "X".  None of the other symbols display.  The properties indicate that Acrobat is using the Adobe Pi Std font for these symbols.

I COULD go through all of our dozens of forms and change the "check mark" to "cross", but this would literally take me hours of updating forms.  I'm hoping for a simpler solution that would allow me to display these other symbols again.

I would appreciate any help that anyone could offer.

Thank you!

Will

Check to see if you have the Zapf Dingbats font installed. I seem to recall that if you do, it can interfere in a way like you're seeing.

I wanted to update... deleting the ITC Zapf Dingbats font from the Windows Fonts folder corrected the issue.  I am now able to see the check marks (and other symbols) again.

I appreciate the help, everyone!

Go to the Help menu and run a Repair Installation. Also make sure you have all the updates installed (again from the Help menu - Check for Updates).

I made sure they'd reinstalled all of the updates.

I just finished the repair.  It didn't fix the issue either.

Thank you though!

Just a brief follow-up.  Out of curiosity, I tried printing a form I knew had fields that were marked... they print out as populated, but with little pairs of scissors instead of check marks.
