Fillable Form is no longer fillable

Greetings, I was completing a form and when I first entered the sheet Adobe had all the fillable fields highlighted and I could fill out the fields throughout the whole document, suddenly the form appears to be flat and when I try and type in the boxes they are no longer highlighted (accessible) and my computer makes a error noise whenever I try to type something into the fields.   Did I toggle something? Help is greatly appreciated!

Hi BKFinancials

While adding the data into fields all of the sudden your form became flatten? Have you signed the document as well? At times applying the signature locks a document. If you did that, your document became secured and restricted to make any further change.

You have to start all over.

Thanks,

Akanchha

Thank for your response.  I realized that once I saved the document it converted the fields to flat and I was unable to get it back to fillable.   I think the same thing happened when I also clicked the final signature tab also.  Signing throughout the form did not seem to have an impact.  I was, however, able to add text to the flat form.  It was not the same font as the fillable forms but at that point I was not going to start over...it was over 22 pages long!!

Thanks for your help, much grattitude!

May be that the fields are locked.

I had the same thing. The fields are not locked, they are still editable, but now the editable fields are not a blue background.  This occurred after using the US government mandated FinCen pdf form (https://boiefiling.fincen.gov/boir/pdf)  It changed some Adobe setting that I don't remember what it was and how to unchange it. Now it kind of hosed up Adobe going forward.
