fillable pdf font too small

I have created a document in Adobe express, exported into Adobe Acrobat pro, and  created a form, so that fields can be completed by the end user.  I understand the principle of selecting a font that is widely available (doesn't seem to matter if I select Helvetica, arial or times roman) but no matter what size font I select (12, 14, 18 or auto) in preview, the font is unreadably small.  I know that changes are made, because I can change the font colour for example successfully. But I need the text to be bigger.

How do I do this? It on;y gives me options of 10, 12, 14, 18 or auto 😞

Hi @bronwen_2515,

Thanks for sharing the issue you’re facing. We know how frustrating it can be when fonts don’t appear the way you expect in a fillable PDF.

To better understand the problem and assist you effectively, could you please help with the following details:

  • Are you trying to fill out the form, or are you editing the field properties?

  • Is the font size issue affecting the text you type in the fields, or is it the form field labels/text in the document itself?

  • Does the issue occur with all PDFs or just a specific one?

  • A screenshot of the issue and a sample PDF file (if possible) would be really helpful.

With this information, we’ll be in a better position to identify whether the issue is related to the field settings, document design, or something else.

Looking forward to your reply!

Hi - thanks for responding back to me.  I am editing the field properties, but when I hit preview it is tiny. I wondered if it was because I needed to save the finished pdf, but that hasn't resolved it; nor has renaming the form fields manually (which I have read fixes a similar issue for others)  I also wondered if it was just that particular form, but I have tried another one, and that is the same.  Grateful for any advice!

Can you share a sample form?
