Question

Fillable PDF will not let me edit, requires password

I have a fill-able pdf form that was not created in adobe but I would like to send this form out to clients for signatures, when I go to upload the forms into adobe it says that the form is locked and requires a password. It is not locked and I have no password, I do this same process with DocuSign and have not had any problems but I like the convince of being able to edit and sign all in one program. Just not sure why Adobe will not let me do this.

Hi jasonb19836893,

Sorry for the delay in response.

There is most likely edit restriction on the file, to check the restrictions on the file. Open the file in Acrobat, click on

File>Properties>Security tab. Check under Security method and Document Restriction Summary.
