Filling forms and sending for signatures

I have been trying to use acrobat to pre-fill forms to be sent out for signatures, and adding the initial/signature fields for the recipient to sign. The issue that I am having, is when the form is sent to the recipient, they have the ability to change the fields that I had entered. This poses a problem as one of the fields is for a dollar amount, and this can not be changed when they sign it. Wondering if there is a setting that I need to select to eliminate this and only allow the recipient the ability to enter information on the form that I add.

hope that makes sense. appreciate your help!

Hi @Rollin27898037tsd6

I hope you are doing well.

Yes, there is a way to prevent recipients from editing specific fields on a form in Adobe Acrobat. You can use the "Restrict Editing" feature to lock particular fields so that they cannot be edited by anyone other than the person who created the form.

First, open the form in Acrobat and select "Prepare Form" from the "Tools" menu. Then, select the fields you want to lock, go to edit mode, and use the form field properties to make the field read-only.

Additionally, you can use the "Digital Signature" feature to ensure that the dollar amount can't be changed after signing. Once the form is filled and signed, you will have a digital certificate that confirms that the form hasn't been tampered with.

For more information, see this helpx article: https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/assign-form-fields-to-signers.html.

I hope this helps.

Best!

Anand Sri.

Are you sending this form to other users as an email attachment or via Adobe Sign?
