Question

Find and tag "Unmarked Content" not working.

Hello, I'm working with a 55-page PDF that includes graphics, text, and background elements that was originally built in Canva. I'm going through the usual clunky, torturous process of passing the accessibility check, and I'm running into a new issue.

When I try to address the random unmarked content that Adobe has decided my document has (such as picking out 187 random "paths" within a graphic that must be tagged  separately from the actual figure for no reason I can discern), the "Find unmarked content" is working, but the "Tag element" button is now doing nothing. It worked for the previous 22 pages of the document, but now on page 23 it will not work.

Anybody have any ideas on how to help? Thanks in advance.

In case anyone ever finds this, it started working again. I had closed Acrobat, restarted my computer, and saved multiple times to no avail, but just now on page 29 the find and tag is working. Still interested in any insight into this mysterious black box that is Adobe accessibility if anyone has some! Thank you!

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

We are glad to hear that the application is working fine now. Also, make sure you have the recent version 24.02.20857 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Thanks for the encouragement, but this didn’t actually work. It kept intermittently working and then other things would break.

The advice you gave was not helpful as of course my organization updates versions on their own so I have no control over which version I have.
