'Find' function isn't reliable

Question

Sometimes the ‘Find’ function in Acrobat works, and sometimes it doesn’t.

I can search for a word that is clearly visible on a page, and Acrobat responds that no matches were found. If I carry out the same search by opening a PDF in any browser, the search works without fail.

I have tried purging the search cache, as suggested elsewhere in these forums, but the issue remains. The ‘Find’ function is so unreliable that there is little point in using Acrobat when reviewing documents.
