Find Text and Redact: Adobe not recognizing numbers within tax returns

Hello,

I've used the redact tool for years and am having many issues. I need to redact all numbers of social security on a tax return except for the last 4 digits. This worked for me earlier on other returns, but the find text and redact is not finding anything within the document. I've also tried redacting manually, and I cannot select the digits, instead the redact tool highlight entire paragraphs.

I have the latest softward on my mac.
