Question

Fixup droplet still Intel app

Finally Acrobat was recompiled for Apple Silicon, thank you!

But if I create a droplet of a Preflight profile, the result is still an Intel app.

Is there a way to make it compatible with MacOS 28?

A valid concern. The droplets should be ready for the times where Apple stops supporting Intel apps (although, if you ask me, Apple simply should not stop supporting them).

In addition, I’ve just created a droplet from the latest Acrobat version, and I couldn’t even run it. Upon opening, Apple’s security dialog appears, informing you that the app is “damaged”. Which means that the droplet is either not signed and/or not notarized (or some other Apple’s pseudo-security mumbo-jumbo). The droplet also doesn’t appear at the bottom of the Security & Privacy system settings where such apps normally can be enabled to run. (Yes, I know the app can also be signed manually via the command line, but that’s effort that we should not be subjected to.)

Interestingly, I don’t have this issue with droplets created 2 months ago. I’ll post a separate thread about this as this should be resolved.

Well, I do have this problem on a machine with macOS 26.4 - but not on a machine with macOS 26.5 RC installed. I’ll wait till macOS 26.5 is released to see if it’s still reproduceable.

Hi, @Lorand5CFA, strange. Acrobat was recompiled for Apple Silicon in September 2021. But you’re using an Apple OS that wont be released for another year and a half. Can you please look at which version of Acrobat you are using? Please go to the Acrobat menu and scroll down to where it says: About Adobe Acrobat and take a screenshot (Shift-Command-4)

I always use Acrobat updated to the most recent version, now I have this one:

Despite this, until recently it was listed as an Intel app in System Information, in that list I guess it became Apple Silicon just after the most recent update.

And of course I don't use OS 28 yet, just want to be sure that the workflow I put up for my colleagues will work even after the time for that upgrade will come.
