I’m very surprised I don’t see other people complaining about this. With the new Adobe Acrobat pro the Format Text list changed. It used to just display all your fonts in alphabetical order, and now you have fonts in used, your computer ( which does not display any fonts you have installed ) and your fonts.

Im adding images to make it more clear.

  • The first image you can see how the new list.
  • the 2nd image is what the list used to look like.
  • the 3rd image, you can see Acrobat sees my akkurat font. I’m able to select that as fallback font for editing under Preferences > content editing.
  • 4th image, if i want to change text to the akkurat font Adobe cannot find the font.
  • 5th image im able to search and change the font in word since they did not make searching for fonts as awful as Adobe Acrobat did.

I had an adobe tech remote into my computer and they were unable to find my fonts. The only way is to disable new Acrobat which has the alphabetical font list like every other application..

Well, I appreciate the thought, but the bottom line is that while your solution may “work,” technically speaking, it’s not practical for everyday use. And given what we are PAYING for Creative Cloud, it should work as it’s supposed to. Period.

    Hi individualistic_Coast2514, and Sandy.King,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue.

We appreciate you sharing the screenshots to help describe the problem. Could you please confirm the current version numbers of Acrobat and your operating system installed on your machine? Additionally, let us know if this behaviour has changed recently.

Once we have all the information, I will share it with the team for review.

We look forward to your response.

    Thanks,

    Meenakshi

The issue is that Acrobat’s ridiculous font management system will NOT recognize the fonts stored on my computer. I spent three hours on the phone with Adobe Help last week, and the best solution they could offer was “disable new Acrobat,” which is no solution at all. For what I pay every month for Creative Cloud, Acrobat should work as it’s supposed to, and I shouldn’t be expected to settle for some band-aid solution with an old, crappy interface.

I am running Version 26.1 on Windows 11 Pro version 25H2.

I am happy to provide my email or work phone so you can contact me directly.

Hi @Sandy.King as asked in the previous response, please share the version of the Adobe Acrobat and the OS you are using? Also, share a small video recording of the steps you are taking and the issue as it occurs for more clarity and investigation.

You have just answered your own question. The answer is to Disable New Acrobat from the sandwich menu at the upper-left and reboot into the old Acrobat interface.

It’s unfortunate, but it works flawlessly. You’ll find that there are several other functions that aren’t available in the New Acrobat interface but are still working as they always did in the Old Acrobat interface, so it’s good to keep this trick in mind.

    Hope this helps,

But this is a terrible solution! The old interface is dramatically different from the current one. It’s completely outdated--looks like something from 1996. There has to be a better way.
