Question

font package for 26.001.21662 won't install

In attempting to open a pdf file, I receive a message that “A font package is required to correctly display this page”. I follow the link to the “Download font and spelling packages” page on adobe.com & click on the download link for Adobe Acrobat Reader 64-bit for Windows, Release Year 2023, Continuous, Font and Spelling Pack (the latest version available). I download the Windows Installer Package but then receive a message that “Adobe Acrobat Reader version 23.008.20421 or later must be installed & the process then terminates. As noted in the title of this thread, I am already running the latest version of Acrobat Reader 26.001.21662. So I am getting nowhere trying to install the necessary Font and Spelling package. Please help!

    Hello @DrSmith7,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the troubled experience. While we are checking internally with the product team about this:

In the meantime, there are two things worth trying:

    1. If the PDF is displaying incorrectly due to missing fonts, open the file in Google Chrome, with or without the Acrobat Extension installed. The browser uses its own built-in PDF renderer and may display the content correctly without requiring the font pack. The browser without the Acrobat extension displays a static, flattened version of the file.

    2. Alternatively, if you can identify which specific font is missing, checking whether that font can be installed directly at the Windows system level may resolve the display issue independently of the Acrobat font pack.

Is it possible you can share the file with us?

    Hi Tariq,

Unfortunately I can’t share the file as it contains extensive personal information. But I can confirm it is a flight reservation confirmation from All Nippon Airways (ANA), so presumably it contains Japanese font.

@DrSmith7  - i understand and we respect that.

Try the browser workaround while we check internally with the product team.
