Question

Font problem after converting postscript to pdf

I used to print postscript files with an old DOS application and converted it to pdf by simply opening it in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. No problems on my old computer. Now i installed both apps on my new Win10 computer. After the conversion only black rectangles are displayed where the characters ares supposed to be (see attachement). What goes wrong with the conversion?  The PS file itself seems to be correct and is displayed correctly in Adobe Document Cloud

Hi Holger

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

It looks like the required font is either not present on your computer or it is not properly embedded into the PDF file or you do not have the required rights to use the particular font. For more information about font embedding please check the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/pdf-fonts.html

Also, please go to Edit > Preferences > Page display  > Under, Rendering , select 'Use local fonts' > Click OK and reboot the application and check if that helps.

Regards

Amal
