Fonts missing depending on how I print word to PDF.
Adobe Acrobat Pro, version 2023.001.20093 (64-bit)
MS Word version 2023 (Build 16227.20212)
I have a word file that I can convert to PDF three ways:
Option 1: File --> Print --> PDF
- This option has "Printer Properties" which pulls up the "Adobe PDF Document Properties" dialogue box. There's a check box that states "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" If I un-check this box then my fonts look great.
- Unfortunately my Table of Contents does not generate the hyperlinked bookmarks in the PDF file and I can't find an option here to enable the bookmark creation.
Option 2: File --> Export --> Create Adobe PDF
- This option brings up the "Save Adobe PDF File As" dialogue box. There's a button for Options. The options include "create bookmarks" which is great. But there's no option about what to do with the fonts.
- This document results with a hyperlinked bookmark for my TOC but my fonts are wrong.
Option 3: Using the Acrobat tab in the MS Word Ribbon
- In the ribbon, I have a Preferences button but I cannot find the "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" or similar option.
- There is some Font settings in the "Advanced Settings ..." button but after testing each of those options, I can not get the desired result.
- This document results in the same appearance as Option 2.
In the MS Fonts folder, under "Font embeddability" my font is noted as "Installable" where many others are noted as Editable. Just thought that was interesting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
