Fonts render as symbols

Question

Trying to open a PDF and its all mainly in gibberish and I have tried the updater and its all up to date yet other staff here open document and its fin and i can open it in sharepoint online and its readable but not on standard Adobe Acrobat please fix it or give me a fix ASAP
 
This is a screenshot of what I see as it is a finance document which I dont want to share.
