Question

Fonts slightly shifting when editing

Hi,

I am having trouble with a PDF document I am programming.

The PDF is coded due TCPDF. And it's supposed to be downloaded from users.

I set all font styles and it all looks just fine.

Here's the pdf: Dropbox - DnD-Character-Sheet.pdf

The problem is that if I download the PDF sheet and edit fields, the font of the edited fields slightly shifts upwards.

1.) It seems like the font is rendered in two different ways. But I could be wrong.

2.) Could that issue occur, because the fonts are not embedded? (although I have all fonts installed)

Would be glad about help!

Thanks in advance!

Fill the form with Acrobat Reader or Adobe Acrobat.

Actually, that's what I am doing!

Try the following to understand my problem:

1.) Go to the field "Class & Level". The form is already filled with "Kleriker(12)".

2.) Now, if you click inside the form and edit something (e.g. delete the words and type it again), the font shifts a tiny bit upwards.

The same happens, if you fill empty fields. For example:

1.) Close the document without saving and open it again.

2.) Go the field "Archetype" (this one is next to "Class & Level") and type the same into it: "Kleriker(12)".

3.) You will see that the text is - again - a tiny bit upwards compared to the same text in the field "Class & Level".

I don't get that. Unfortunately, it's important for our project to place the text very precisely.

The text (not font) shifts upwards to display the border of the field. When you create the form field with Adobe Acrobat the border is always visible and the text doesn't shift.
