Question

form calculations don't work, calculation boxes grey'd out

I'm new to creating forms, but have a pretty weird issue.  I cant add basic calculations to my form.  I am trying to sum multiple other form fields and am able to select them with the checkbox, but nothing shows in the calculation box after I've selected them.  I've tried re-creating the form with no luck. The link below is the file in question.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I encountered the same problem.  Fixed this by changing the settings in Edit > Preferences > JavaScript.  Enabled the deugger and menu item execution privileges and restarted my computer.  I have the ability to save calculations now.

That's pretty odd since neither of those settings have anyting to do with entering, saving, or using calculation scripts.  I think restarting the computer was more likely to have fixed the issue.

I finally found the issue after trying just about everything.  I was not able to add calculations to fields I created using the Adobe Form Wizard.  When I created a new field from scratch, I was able to add value is calculations, simple notation calculations, and custom calculation script, and all of them stay in the file when pressing OK.

I hope this saves someone else a lot of time if they ever come across this issue!

What do you mean by create a new field from scratch?  I am having the same problem as you.

@Akki_24 Thanks for getting back to me.  I tried unlocking that field and still have the issue.

Im trying to make "TOTAL_FEE_TRANSFER" the calculation field.  It would equal the sum of the following fields:

"OUR_PREMIUM"

"OUR_UCC_PREMIUM"

"ESCROW_FEE"

"CPL_FEE"

"FEDEX_FEE"

"SEARCH EXAM FEE" (realized i messed up my naming structure on this one, my bad)

"RECD_FEE"

"TRANSFER_TAX"

"TIEFF"

"MISC_CHARGE_AMT_I"

"MISC_CHARGE_AMT_II"

"MISC_AMT_I"

"MISC_AMT_II"

I'm able to check the fields, but once i select and press "OK"...

The values do not show in the box, and does not calculate on the form.

Thank you again for your help!

Hi Buddstud,

Thank you for sharing the form.

Are you trying to sum couple of form fields and get the Total? I downloaded the form, but didn't really get the field you are referring here. Would you please tell me the exact form field you are trying to sum and which one is the resultant filed?

I checked the field's properties too. Few fields like "Our Premium" are on Read-only. So you may double if the field you are trying to add aren't restricted.

Here is a video tutorial for the same: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-do-i-use-basic-calculations-in-a-form

Need more information to proceed further.

Thanks,

Akanchha

This form does not contain a calculation in the "TOTAL_FEE_TRANSFER" field.

I added one and it worked fine.

It look like Acrobat is not taking your selections for the calculation. Try just selecting one input field for the calc and see what happens.
