Format issues after signing pdf documents

Question

After signing pdf documents in Adobe Acrobat, the format of the document changes and adds random characters. What is causing this and is there a way to prevent it?

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.

As the format changes after signing, please let us know how you are adding a signature to the document. Are you using the Fill & Sign tool or adding a digital signature? Did you create this PDF form or receive it for signature?

This seems to be a file-specific issue. Please also check if the fonts are embedded in the document. To do so, open the PDF in Acrobat and go to Menu > Document properties > Fonts. Then, share a screenshot of the window with us and the PDF so we can check.
