Question

Formatting issues from PDF to Word for mac

I have a document that I wrote originally in Notes on my Macbook Air. I then saved it as a PDF - then concverted it to a Word document so that I could correct it for spelling, grammer etc.

I now have formatting issues which I can't fix. There are huge gaps - empty pages - and so on. On anothr post I noticed something called 'flowing text' but I can't find that on my Mac version of Word - which is 16.6.

At the moment the only way I can see to fix this is to retype everything into a new Word doc - which is very time consuming. Does anyone have some tips for reformatting/

Hi.

Be sure to export as .DOCX (not .DOC).

Try to open the .DOCX file with LibreOffice instead of Word, sometimes it's better.

Hi,

I don't think is necessary to retype everything.

When you created your text document using notes, were you able to save it as plain text?

Also, does notes allows you to change the type of encoding?

My main question is geared towards the steps that you followed.

  1. I would save the original document as plain text. Then open in word to assign all formatting and proofreading. And last, open with Adobe Acrobat directly so the conversion to PDF is handle by Acrobat itself on your finalized MS Word document.

Hi,

Have you used any specific format to create the notes? I have tried exporting the PDF created from notes to word , but didn't face any formatting issue.

Can you please share the elaborate steps to reproduce the issue?

Thanks and Regards,
