Formatting Text in a Text Field

I'm not sure why this is so difficult for me.  I'm trying to figure out how to format text inserted into a .pdf with the text box tool.  There does not appear to be any way to modify the text other than to increase and decrease the font size.  I don't see any options to change the font, bold, italicize, underline, ect., text that I insert into a .pdf with the text box field insert.  Can anyone give some feedback on this?

Hi @defaultz4scyopwx6s6,

Thanks for reaching out. The Text Box added from Comment tools can be formatted (font, size, bold, italic, color) by selecting the text and using the text properties in the comment’s quick tools or Properties bar. Fill & Sign’s Add Text is more limited and generally allows only size adjustments. For form fields, you can enable Allow Rich Text Formatting in the field’s properties to support styled input.

Comment Text Box and Callout are annotations with their own text properties that support changing font, size, color, bold, italic, and alignment. Open Comment, insert a Text Box, then select its text and use the “Set or change properties for the selected text” control in the quick tools to adjust font, size, color, bold, italic, and alignment. Please check this doc: https://adobe.ly/48iwNtS

Edit PDF > Add Text inserts editable content into the page and provides full font and styling controls in the Format Text panel. Check this doc: https://adobe.ly/47LTxCy

Prepare Form > Text Field is an interactive form control. You can enable Allow Rich Text Formatting to support bold, italic, and underline inside the field. Check this doc: https://adobe.ly/46vP6JQ

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have further questions.

Regards,
