Vielen Dank!

Hello,

@creative explorer has correctly mentioned how this compatibility issue is impacting printing and what needs to be done to fix it.
In addition to those details, I am trying to add a few more details on how the printer might fail:

When printing PDFs, version differences between 1.4 and 1.7 mostly affect how transparency, layers, and color profiles are handled. PDF 1.7 supports more modern printing workflows (especially with advanced RIP systems), while PDF 1.4 might require transparency flattening, which can affect print output quality. If you’re printing via older printers or drivers, PDF 1.4 might be safer — but for professional or modern digital printing, PDF 1.7 or PDF/X-4 offers better results. Always check your print provider’s requirements or test both formats if in doubt.

@Excato Acrobat and the Epson WF-4825 DWF printer's duplex feature likely failed because the PDF's version 1.7 contained newer, more complex data that the Epson WF-4825 DWF printer driver couldn't interpret correctly for double-sided printing, unlike the older, more widely supported version 1.4. This isn't a simple bug but rather a compatibility issue where the printer's software hasn't been updated to fully support the features of the newer PDF standard. While a future update from Epson could fix this, for now, the most reliable solution is to continue saving or converting your PDFs to version 1.4 or an earlier standard to ensure your printer can handle the duplex job.
