Free Adobe program to read PDFs

I was told there was a free Adobe program that would allow me to read PDFs and edit them.  I cannot find that and don't know how to use it.

I don't mind if I have to pay the $15 a month after the free trial of one week, IF I CAN CANCEL IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAT IF IT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO DO THE WORK I NEED TO DO.  I do not want to sign up for it if I cannot cancel if it does not work.

The free app Acrobat Reader can read PDF files, and it can fill in fillable forms. It cannot edit. Acrobat Pro can edit PDFs, but in a very limited way: prepare to be underwhelmed. Sometimes you can fix a typo. It doesn't give you a Word-for-PDF function.

Like with any kind of subscription-based service, there's a cancellation policy. You need to read it carefully before subscribing.

You can also use the trial version of Acrobat Pro for free for 7 days, to see that it does what you need it to do.

However, keep in mind the trial version is not identical to the subscription version. The latter has more features, as it's constantly being updated, while the former is the version you get if you purchase a perpetual license.
