Freehand drawing tool disappears after the first stroke

The freehand drawing tool disappears after the first stroke. This is very annoying because every time I have to go to the toolbar and select the freehand drawing tool again. Is there a setting so that the tool stays selected until I select something else?

To keep the annotation tool selected please follow the steps below:

  1. In the Comment toolbar, select the tool you want to use (but don’t use it yet).
  2. Click the Keep Tool Selected icon (Thumbpin icon), as shown in the screenshot below:

    What can I do since this is happening when I edit a PDF using adobe on my Google Drive? If I want to highlight items using the Freehand option and then the Google Drive auto saves it unselects the Freehand option. Is there a way around this? I dont see a Thumbpin on my screen at all.
